Here are some of the reasons why Overnight Prints is Eco Friendly Mama approved:

Only uses paper certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative

That means that their paper is sourced from lands that are responsibly harvested and maintained. They must adhere to rigorous standards regarding protection of biodiversity, wildlife habitat, sustainable harvest levels, protection of water qualit,y and prompt regeneration.

Paper is processed without bleach or chlorine chemicals

Many white papers are processed using bleach or chlorine chemicals. Unfortunately, doing so creates dioxins (an extremely potent carcinogen) and toxic pollutants in the process. When these are released into the water, they move up the food chain until they reach humans in dangerous levels. Looking at my cards, the background is white white white, and yet you’d never know it was created without the use of cancer-causing chemicals!

They have a 100% post-consumer recycled paper option that is PCF and Green Seal certified

PCF stands for Processed Chlorine Free. By recycling 100% post-consumer content in an eco-friendly way, they are essentially making paper into an eco-friendly renewable resource.

Uses waterless printing which is better for the environment

According to Overnight Prints’ page on their green efforts:

“The majority of printing companies still operate outdated print presses that use toxic chemicals and consume over 25,000 gallons of water per month. That’s enough to fill an Olympic size swimming pool.”

My reasons for liking my experience using Overnight Prints goes beyond their sustainability efforts.

Website is very user-friendly!

They offer pre-set designs or you can create your own. I opted to make my own layout. But having never done this before and zero training in graphic design, this was a daunting task. Thankfully, their website offered clear size guidelines. They also showed the “red line” areas where the design could potentially get cut off. That made it easy to know how to lay my graphics and text out so that they wouldn’t get accidentally chopped off.

I also really enjoyed their 3D preview mode. You could manipulate the cards any which direction you wanted to see them from every angle. Check out this video to see mine in action!

Cards arrived quickly.

After I submitted my order, it took about 24 hours for the design to be reviewed by a human (an additional option you can select for just $1). They were then printed and shipped so that I received them one business day later. It took a total of two business days to receive my cards!

They’re affordable!

While I received these cards for free in exchange for an honest review, I thought the prices were very competitive compared to other printing companies. In fact, I’d bet that most of their customers don’t choose them for their green practices, but rather for their speed and pricing.

If you need business cards or anything else printed, you can use my code ECOFRIEND for up to 79% off (yes, 79% exactly) business cards and their other printing products.

Here’s their website: https://www.overnightprints.com.

I receive no commission or compensation if you use this code or click on any links in this post. I am just spreading the word about this company because I am impressed with their product and their commitment to sustainability.

How funny that we’ve both been looking into eco-friendly business cards! I love the idea of these, which are made out of recycled cotton clothing, but haven’t ordered them yet!

Yes! I looked at Moo too, and think it’s awesome they use recycled cotton scraps. Overnight Prints, however, uses a totally waterless printing method free of toxic chemicals which I don’t believe Moo does. That, plus the fact they they use paper certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Green Seal, I think gives Overnight Prints the edge in terms of being more eco-friendly at multiple points throughout the production chain.

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they can deliver the same quality of products as a traditional printer for a very competitive price. I wouldn’t be surprised if a good number of their customers pick them for reasons other than their sustainability practices.
